The Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism was founded by the great yogi scholar Lama Tsong Khapa. His approach was eclectic and non-sectarian and he placed special emphasis on monastic discipline and study as well as practice. The head of the Gelug school is Ganden Tri Rinpoche.
