Wisdom Books Newsletter 14th March 2008 : Iss 69"To see things as they are - what does that really mean? It means to see without delusion: to see clearly, without confusion. The Buddha taught that seeing things just as they are, we attain liberaton, release - the final fruit of the path." - from : Contemplating Reality |
As we go further into 2008 the new titles keep coming and this month we would like to draw your attention to the following. The long anticipated book Great Perfection, which you will find on the homepage, is a very clear and accessible work on the foundational practices of Dzogchen, containing detailed preliminary instructions from an instruction manual written by the Third Dzogchen Rinpoche.
There have been a number of recent biographies of the late twentieth century Tibetan master Chogyam Trungpa and as well as now having stock of the paperback of Dragon Thunder, we also have Warrior King of Shambhala, a detailed account of his life by Jeremy Hayward, one of his most influential students, which vividly illustrates Trungpa's powerful, direct way of working with students.
Another noteworthy new release is the fascinating DVD Lost World of Tibet which is treasure trove of amazing colour footage, preserved and restored by the British Film Institute, revealing the story of the Dalai Lama and Tibet in a way never told before.
Don't forget to check out our Events Page on a regular basis, already for this year there are upcoming visits and teachings by Buddhist masters from all traditions that are listed, including details of how to make bookings. Of course the main event in the coming months is the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and in relation to that we would like to remind you that we have stock of books related to the text on which he will be teaching - Harmony of Emptiness and Dependent Arising and Key to the Treasury of Shunyata.
Enjoy the newsletter!!
Best Wishes
