Welcome to our regular monthly round-up of all that is new on the site, this month we have lots of new releases to tell you about, all of which you can browse at leisure on the site and which are listed here for you as per the contents of this newsletter.

Highlights this month include two great new DVDs that are on the home page. Living Compassion offers an excellent overview of the teachings given by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Nottingham, England 2008. Edited into easy to understand chapters, the DVD covers different subjects such as - living an ethical Life, nature of mind, emptiness, global responsibility, the environment, meditation and how to achieve peace. How to Cook Your Life is a delightful film on the bestselling author of the Tassajara Bread Book, Edmund Espe Brown, showing him at his cooking classes in Europe and the United States, and through which we get to learn both about the art of cooking and the art of cooking your life.

The two other new releases on the home page concentrate on specific meditation practices from within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Dark Red Amulet presents the Vajrayana practice of Vajrakilaya, embodying the enlightened activity of the Buddhas to subjugate delusion and negativity in order to clear obstacles to spiritual practice. Cho: Garden of all Joy is a commentary on the practice of Chod by the renowned Kagyu master Tenga Rinpoche; the practice was originally formulated by the famous Tibetan yogini Machig Lapdron.

Listed below is a selection of other new releases, particularly worth noting are Unmasking Buddhism, Bernard Faure’s controversial study that looks to debunk Oriental stereotypes by highlighting the complexity and diversity of Buddhism in all its form, Experience of Samadhi a detailed study of Buddhist meditation using ancient scriptures and commentary, plus interviews with prominent teachers, the new paperback edition of Red Pine’s translation of the Platform Sutra and Visions of Awakening Space and Time an exploration of Zen master Dogen’s writings in relation to the Lotus Sutra.

Needless to say there is plenty more than just the above to browse through – enjoy the newsletter!
