Synopsis: Dzongsar Khyentse Norbu Rinpoche is a renowned Tibetan Buddhist master - but he is not your typical teacher. He's a cell-phone toting football loving Bhutanese film director whose feature films The Cup and Travellers and Magicians, both set in Bhutan, have been critically acclaimed.
This is a poignant, often hilarious tale of students who follow their guru - a teacher who defies convention. Shot in the UK, Bhutan, Germany (during England's 5-1 football result against Germany), Canada, and the USA, the film features appearances by Bernardo Bertolucci and Steven Seagal and music by Sting and others.
"If he's enlightened, why doesn't he act like an enlightened being?…That's a reasonable question, isn't it?" from the film.
