The book begins with a biography drawn by Geshe Ngawang Dhargye from traditional sources, supplemented by Tsong Khapa's own Song of Realization, and Jamyang Choje Tashi Palden's Song of the Mystic Experiences, a record of his visionary experiences. Then follows Tsong Khapa's teachings on Lam Rim, the stages of the path to enlightenment, including Three Principles of the Path, advice on sutra and tantra, the Prayer of the Virtuous Beginning, Middle and End, Praise for Relativity, and the Middle Length Transcendent Insight. Then comes Tsong Khapa's visions and praises to Manjushri and Maitreya, and finally praises to Tsong Khapa written by Khedrup Je, the Seventh Dalai Lama, and the Eighth Karmapa.
